Struff, a dream week and a 1st title in cold Munich!

Struff, a dream week and a 1st title in cold Munich!

In front of an enthusiastic crowd, Jan-Lenard Struff won the 2024 BMW Open in Munich on Sunday. In the final, he dominated Taylor Fritz in 1 hour 19 minutes and two sets (7-5, 6-3). The German continued the momentum of his magnificent week on Bavarian clay, playing tennis that was as aggressive as it was effective. He outclassed two-time title-holder Holger Rune in the semi-finals on Saturday (6-2, 6-0). The week was also marked by almost wintry weather, with no sunshine and temperatures that struggled to rise above 6°C (43°F).

At almost 34 years of age (33 years and 11 months) and after losing 3 finals, including once in Munich (2021), Struff finally wins his first ATP title. It was a relief for the German player, who was delighted to be able to experience this moment in his homeland.

Realistically Nadal might not play RG, I dont see him tarnishing his record if he knows he can't compete

You do not have to prove anything. You have played your part.

He's making a fool of himself. Call it a day and retire.

I disagree with most of you, if this really is his final year on tour I think he should play RG and make a farewell speech, regardless in which round he exits. We know, and he knows, he cannot win maj
