Tsitsipas:

Tsitsipas: "I have one mantra, climb every mountain that comes my way!"

Stefanos Tsitsipas came from behind to defeat Facundo Diaz Acosta in the quarter-finals in Barcelona. Winning in 2 1/2 hours and 3 sets (4-6, 6-3, 7-6), the Greek saved 2 match points. As philosophical as ever, he paid tribute to his opponent at the end of the match.

Stefanos Tsitsipas: "I didn't think about losing. I was close to it at certain points in the match. It's like a mountain. And I remembered that I have a mantra: when I'm faced with a mountain, I have to climb it. It was tough. I just had to keep going.

He played incredibly well. He gave everything he had on the court. He's a very good clay-court player, and he was in the quarters for a good reason. And today, the level he showed himself capable of producing is impressive.

It's definitely helped me to have won this series of matches (8 in a row now) and to have been in this type of situation before. I managed to find solutions. I was a bit tense on my serve. It was really mental and I'm feeling better in the head."

Looks like he doesn't want to break Rafa's record of most consecutive wins at Madrid
